Jaime Barcelon on Starting as a Filipino Pop Star, Producing His Own Work, and Passion Leading to Perseverance

Jaime Barcelon (Actor, Singer, Writer) is a STAR!! I’ve always been inspired by Jaime’s sheer creativity and how he passionately throws himself into his art. From producing his own one-man show, to booking major network TV shows, and getting his start in a popular boy band in the Philipines… Jaime’s creativity is multifaceted and masterful.

We dive into the importance of self-producing work, dealing with jealousy, being grateful for career opportunities, and how growing personally leads to growing as a professional performer. We reflect on the need to play characters who scare the crap out of us, how being a “good student” as an actor can make it hard to leave your homework at the door and be present (not to mention is exhausting), and how incredibly important it is to stay passionate about the work you’re doing.

— Going from boy band pop star in the Philippines, to embracing the world of film in LA
